What we welcome

We consider explanatory pieces about product formats and labels, comparisons that clarify meaningful differences, grounded histories of beauty objects or customs, and thoughtful accounts of techniques or routine choices. A strong proposal has a defined reader question and a useful answer that does not depend on sensational claims or a sales pitch.

What makes a good pitch

Tell us the proposed subject, the main point you would explain and why it is useful to a general reader. Include the intended shape of the piece and the kinds of information needed to support it. Flag any personal, commercial or product relationship that could affect how readers interpret the work.
